Is your zune skipping?
Mike Pauses or skips at the beginning of songs is one of the most common issues zune users are experiencing. Well not everybody, but at least some do, in most cases that downloaded their content from zune marketplace.
So, Cesar from zuneinsider posted yesterday expressing concern over skipping and said that the team is aware, and is working on it. He also asked the users to comment and help the zune team.
Anyway is there a fix for this problem. Well officially not. But I’ll mention what some users did to get rid of this problem. It might not help everybody, but definitely doesn’t hurt to try.
One such commenter on Cesar’s blog said
“I re-flashed all of the firmware with the “Back + Up” reboot, and the “Back + Right + OK” reformat, re-flashed the firmware from 1.0 to 1.2 using ZMP, and re-synced my content, and what do you know, no more skipping for me!”
Another claimed that putting his zune on “Shuffle All” fixed the problem. So, do you have a fix, if yes let us know?

I found the same problem with the zune marketplace purchased music but I’ve noticed that if you load a CD on yourself, as in puting the CD in the tray and loading the music into, say, Itunes and then sync it to your player, it has no skips at all. Also if you pause the player right when the song starts it tends to take away the skips. Also some songs and albums skip worst than other, some for a few seconds, others for almost a minute. The video has no problems and is flawless (wish it were the same for the music)

After I update my Zune software on the PC (Windows XP SP2), I attempted to play some MP3 songs and sure enough my Zune software while running on my PC is now skipping and pausing while I am trying to play a ripped mp3 songs. Foruntely, I have not updated my Zune device with the lastest firmware, or I would be extremely upset with MS. Man! I should have went with the iPOD like the other millions users. Well, I am leaning towards purchasing an iPOD the next go around. But for know I am suck my choice since during the purchase of my new MP3 player it made more sense to me that I should go with MS product since I am running MS Windows however I have been releasing that Zune is too new to the market, everwhere I go, there are multiple rows of products for the iPOD while the Zune has a few boxes. At least, I have learned my woes of the MS testing process so I can happy say that my Zune device is working flawless because I only upgraded my PC Zune software not my Zune device.
