Install zune software on any foreign windows OS

November 23rd, 2006 by Mike

We know that zune is officially launched in the US only, but people from all around the world who can’t wait to get their hands on one are importing zune or you can say asking their friends to send them one.

But one of their biggest concerns is whether they will be able to install the zune software on their non-US Windows operating system. As you know you need the software to access zune marketplace.

Michael from musiczune.de, one of the German zune sites has found a way around this problem. By following 6 easy steps outlined by him, you should be able to install the software on any foreign Windows XP Pro or Home edition. Enjoy!

Zune pre-loaded content issues

November 23rd, 2006 by Mike

Recently lot of people who bought zune had preloaded content related issues. For some it was never present in the first place and for others they either deleted it by mistake or ended up removing it during a simple process like syncing. So, I’ll address these issues here.

Unfortunately there is no way to get the preloaded content back on to the device for free. But if you really need it then you can purchase it from the zune marketplace. How? Go to zune marketplace, playlists, and stories and look for zune preload.

How to get zune running on vista

November 23rd, 2006 by Mike

As per Cesar from zuneinsider the zune is not compatible with vista right now, but will be when the consumer edition is publicly available in January and will also include 64bit vista support.

So, if you are already running vista and don’t want to wait then there is a solution. Paul from modoco has found a way to get zune running on vista. I haven’t tried it myself, but users at modco forums have claimed that it works. Good luck.

Is zune really for sale in Canada

November 20th, 2006 by Mike

Let’s see as per cliczune.com, zune is being sold in Canada by TigerDirect.ca. The offer is only available when buying online. The site even claims that the black zune is comparatively cheaper to white and brown zune.

Now I needed to see it myself, as you all know it’s not officially launched in Canada yet. I went to the site checked the mp3 players section, couldn’t find it. Surprisingly when I searched the site for keyword zune, nope still couldn’t find it.

zune software available for download

November 15th, 2006 by Mike

zune software imageI know I am a little late in posting this; but finally the Zune software is available for download. Something we have been waiting for while. As you know you needed the software to access the zune marketplace.

Now you can rip and burn CDs, create your own playlists, import music, videos or pictures from windows media player or iTunes.

But remember you need Windows XP with SP2 or service pack 2 or Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 Update Rollup 2 for the software to work and unfortunately it is not compatible with Vista right now. But will be when the consumer edition is publicly available in January and will also include 64bit vista support.
